Secret Service – New England Electronic Crimes Task Force
The Boston-based New England Electronic Crimes Task Force (NET) facilitates skills sharing between member partners and provides tools, services, deliverables and processes that are designed to meet the needs of our community.
The NET is a strategic alliance of the Secret Service, private industry, academia and other law enforcement entities working together to protect the nation’s critical infrastructure, using the latest in high-tech equipment to detect, deter and respond to criminal threats.
The task force investigates electronic crimes, including computer generated counterfeit currency, counterfeit checks, identity theft, bank fraud, credit card fraud, access device fraud, telecommunications fraud, corporate espionage, computer system intrusion and Internet-related child pornography and exploitation.
